Financial Times hosts webinar on Alzheimer’s Disease in Europe, featuring Professor Miia Kivipelto as guest speaker 

Professor Miia Kivipelto will be speaking on 23 September 2021as part of the “Alzheimer’s Disease: Preparing for the “Silent Epidemic” in Europe” webinar hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with Biogen and eu40.

Along with other leading figures in dementia research, including Mr. John F Ryan, the Public Health Director at the European Commission, Professor Kivipelto will use her wealth of experience in the field to engage in the online discussion. The webinar will consider issues surrounding Alzheimer’s disease in Europe including: health system readiness for the challenges associated with dementia, changes needed to increase public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, ways of improving diagnosis rates, and options for enhancing care across Europe.

How digital solutions can be used in Alzheimer’s disease support will also be discussed, a topic that is particularly relevant to Professor Kivipelto’s current efforts through the FBHI and World-Wide FINGERs projects. The FBHI, in collaboration with the World-Wide FINGERS Network, are working towards developing digital infrastructure to facilitate the sharing and joint analysis of data between research institutes, read more about our efforts here.
