A team dedicated to dementia risk reduction
FBHI is a non-profit organization founded in 2019. We support, drive, and coordinate the continued clinical research that builds on the original FINGER study.
We also develop and manage implementation activities, to help ensure that scientific findings come into use, for the benefit of individuals and societies.
A new and dynamic organization
FBHI is a relatively new, independent non-profit research institute. Team members have great opportunities to influence the direction of future research and further development of the organization.
Leading research teams
Professor Miia Kivipelto’s ground-breaking FINGER research is the foundation for FBHI’s work. Working at FBHI provides exciting opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers in the fields of non-pharmacological dementia prevention and risk reduction.
Multidisciplinary and international
Research teams around the world are taking the FINGER research further. The World-Wide FINGERS network now includes researchers in nearly 70 countries. As a hub of the network, FBHI is truly an international and multidisciplinary organization, built on expertise from different fields, backgrounds, and contexts.
Health care allowance
Physical exercise is an important lifestyle domain of the FINGER model. FBHI offers all staff a health care allowance to encourage wellness activities.
